Niagara Benchlands is home to nearly 50 vineyards, each offering tasting rooms and guided tours, wine shops and beautiful lake views from all points.

It’s also home to quaint towns like Beamsville, Vineland and Jordan Village, nestled in rural areas where outdoor enthusiasts will find activities like cycling, hiking and golfing on a variety of courses and trails.

Where is Niagara Benchlands?

Niagara Benchlands is located in the Niagara Region on the shores of Lake Ontario, about an hour and a half drive from the Greater Toronto Area and roughly 45 minutes from the city of Hamilton.

The area is best explored by car, although bike and bus tours to local wineries and vineyards are available. The nearest major airports are Toronto Pearson and Buffalo Niagara International Airport.

Find the big benches

Look for the oversized benches located in parks and street corners throughout the town of Lincoln.

Explore a conservation area

Both Ball’s Falls Conservation Area and Cave Springs Conservation Area offer a variety of trails, rugged shorelines and views of the Niagara Escarpment.

Discover local wine

Tour the many vineyards that dot the region. Book an excursion by bike or bus and find your favourite.

Go tulip picking

Tasc Tulip Pick Farm in Fenwick offers a chance for you to pick your own tulips in season from a massive field of more than two million bulbs in a variety of vibrant colours. 

Visit a local cheese producer

Sample the selection of artisanal cheese crafted from locally sourced ingredients, including milk from the local Guernsey herd at Upper Canada Cheese Company.

Relax on a lakeside patio

Known as “Niagara’s hidden gem,” the Beacon Harbourside restaurant in Jordan Station serves freshly prepared meals, mimosas and cocktails on a patio overlooking Lake Ontario.
