Haldimand County

Haldimand County is a rural municipality in Southwestern Ontario. With over 80 kilometres of Lake Erie shoreline and the Grand River within its borders, it offers an abundance of outdoor opportunities for paddling, nature viewing and fishing.

History buffs will also find many locations of interest in the county. Notably, this includes the Cottonwood Mansion Museum and Ruthven Park National Historic Site, two museums that give visitors the chance to experience life as it was in the 19th century.

The county is known for award-winning craft breweries like the Concession Road Brewing Company and Oranje Son Brewing.

Where is Haldimand County?

Located on the Niagara Peninsula, Haldimand County is an easy drive from several urban areas including the Greater Toronto Area, the city of Hamilton and Niagara Falls. 

The region is also near three U.S. border crossings: the Peace Bridge between Buffalo and Fort Erie, the Rainbow Bridge at Niagara Falls and the Queenston Lewiston Bridge. The region is most easily explored by car or motorcycle.

Get behind the wheel

Watch a race at a significant motorsport event or feel the thunder under the hood on the drag strip or closed road course at Toronto Motorsports Park. The Exotic Dream Car Experience or Drag Racing Experience puts you in the driver’s seat.

Visit a historic estate

Spend a day exploring the Ruthven Park National Historic Site in the town of Cayuga. This well-preserved mid-19th-century estate sits on over 600 hectares along the Grand River.

Shop at a farmers’ market

Shoppers looking for fresh seasonal produce will find what they’re looking for at the Dunnville Farmers Market. It operates on Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to noon and Tuesdays from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.
