Initially established in 1941 by a European ski instructor and mountain guide, Blue Mountain Resort offers the quintessential alpine look and feel. In many of the lodgings provided at the resort, you may feel transported to the Alps! The resort offers standard accommodation, boutique hotels or private homes and apartments. In total, you can choose between nine different lodges and pick your favourite location. Some are next to the ski slopes, while others sit in the shopping district or border the resort’s golf course and lake. 

Many of the accommodations include amenities that enhance that cozy mountain feel. You can request rooms, apartments or homes with private balconies, fireplaces, kitchenettes and spa baths. Some are pet-friendly, and you can combine most with package deals that include dining or skiing and spa activities.

The two main townships of The Blue Mountains are Thornbury and Craigleith. Both offer some cultural activities at the Sheffield Park Black History and Cultural Museum and The Craigleith Heritage Depot. There are a few beaches along the Nottawasaga Bay shore, including Christie Beach, Peasemarsh Beach and Northwinds Beach.
