Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

Start your engines and head to the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (formerly known as Mosport Park). Fans of Formula One racing can spend their time testing out the track with their own car or choose from the high-performance fleet on offer. Off the track, other activities range from high-tech simulators to full racing events. The Motorsport Park is surrounded by beautiful parkland, open fields and picnic spots from which to watch all of the action on the track.

Located north of Bowmanville, approximately 100 km east of Toronto’s city centre. From Toronto, drive east along Highway 401 through Bowmanville, then head north on Highway 35. You can’t miss the signs for Canada’s home of motorsport.

The Canadian Tire Motorsport Park has events and workshops with plenty on offer for the whole crew. For details, take a detour to their official website and check for upcoming events and news. If you are looking for a more extended pit-stop, Destination Ontario has a few ideas to share with you.

More about Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

Canadian Tire Motorsport Park provides entertainment for the whole family. While the park has always been a hit with motorsport fans, the venue has far more to offer. The racetrack is only the beginning.

If you are here to watch the cars, you will not be disappointed. Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is a multi-track motorsport venue with a 10-turn road course stretched over almost 4 km of racing track. In addition, there is also a 2.4 km advanced driver and race driver training facility, along with the 1.4 km kart track and the 0.40 km skid pad (as part of the Driver Development Centre). This is more than a racing track. This is an automotive paradise.

Canadian Tire Motorsport Park was once the host of the Canadian Grand Prix Formula 1, with legends such as Stirling Moss, Gilles Villeneuve, Mario Andretti and Richard Petty leaving their marks on the track. Today, the course is now open to the public to learn from the best and try your skills out on the track with either your own car or a selection of high-performance cars from the park’s garage.

Visitors are welcome to bring their food and drinks for a BBQ, tailgate party or simply picnic with a view. There is also a great range of food available onsite, along with two areas with full-service restrooms and shower facilities.

Canadian Tire Motorsport Park opens up the paddock for up-close access to the cars, drivers, and crews outside of racing events. It’s an excellent opportunity for kids to see what happens off the track as well as on. Adults can shop in the CTMP Marketplace from the same vendors as professional drivers.

If you think you can’t fit this all in one day, then bring your tent and camp on the grounds. A camping weekend is always popular with major-events on the track. It will also give you a little extra time to explore the region before heading home. Just a short drive down the road in Hampton is Pingle’s Farm Market. It’s a great place to stock the picnic basket before you head to the race track. It’s also worth a visit on the way home for their old-style corn maze… and to restock that picnic basket.

The Canadian Automotive Museum in Oshawa is a great place to complement your race track experience. The museum houses a collection of cars dating back to 1903, some of which have raced around the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park many years earlier. Upstairs, there are displays sharing the history of automotive manufacturing in Canada, including Oshawa. Special credit goes to the tour guides who entertain fans young and old by bringing the stories and displays to life.

Whether you’re racing for adventure or driving for a weekend getaway, the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park always has space for you to park.
