Kingsville
The lakeside town of Kingsville is one of Ontario’s southernmost communities. In fact, it shares the same latitude as northern California and enjoys the warmest climate in Canada.
Thanks to its favourable temperatures and proximity to Lake Erie, the town and surrounding region is one of the most agriculturally productive regions in the province. Visitors will find farms, vineyards and greenhouses that provide fresh produce for Kingsville restaurants, cafes and farm stands.
The town is also known for popular events like Kingsville Open Streets and the Kingsville Folk Festival.
Where is Kingsville?
Kingsville is located in Essex County on Lake Erie’s north shore. The town is just under an hour’s drive from Windsor and a little over three hours west of Toronto.
The town is best reached by car or motorcycle. Arrivals by boat are also possible via Cedar Island Marina, which houses a Canadian Border Services telephone reporting site. The nearest border crossings are the Ambassador Bridge and the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel.

Try local craft beers
Located next door to Kingsville’s Grove Hotel, the Grove Brew House microbrewery serves fresh beers made on-site. Visit their taproom and restaurant and find your favourite.
Attend a folk festival
The annual Kingsville Folk Festival is a three-day event on the Lake Erie shore. The festival features several musical genres including blues, bluegrass, country and roots music.
Tour a winery
The Kingsville area is known for its wineries. Start your tour with a visit to Mastronardi Estate Winery. Daily wine tastings and viticulture tours are offered from May to October.
Golf a championship course
The Kingsville Golf & Country Club offers golfers a variety of championship-level terrain. The course is made of three nines, named Red, White and Gold, each with their own character.
Relax at a beach
Being on the shore of Lake Erie, the Kingsville area has several options when it comes to beaches. Spend the day at local favourites like Mettawas Beach, Cedar Island Beach or Union Beach.
Attend a big street party
On select summer Saturdays, Kingsville closes a portion of the downtown for Kingsville Open Streets. The event features themes like Christmas in July, giant Lego pieces and more.
