Located between Arrowhead Provincial Park and Algonquin Provincial Park, Huntsville is the largest community in the Muskoka region and has rightly been dubbed “the adventure capital of Ontario.”

This beautiful town is known for access to many nature trails, parks and lakes. Thanks to the terrain and climate, outdoor activities in and around Huntsville are available year-round, ranging from hiking, camping, paddling and bicycling in warmer months to skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling in winter.

Where is Huntsville?

Huntsville is 42 kilometres west of Algonquin Provincial Park and less than 10 kilometres south of Arrowhead Provincial Park.

Huntsville is located off  Highway 11 and Highway 60, Muskoka (Regional) Road 3, with buses running daily to and from Toronto.

Reconnect with the outdoors

Arrowhead Provincial Park is a short 10-minute drive north of Huntsville and features treed campsites, sand beaches and hiking trails. Canoe and mountain bike rentals are available.

Enjoy panoramic views

Lions Lookout Trail climbs 1.5 kilometres up to a viewing area overlook offering spectacular views of the Muskoka River, Fairy Lake and town of Huntsville.

Learn local history

Head to the Muskoka Heritage Place to learn local history and ride the century-old Portage Flyer steam train.

Experience arts and culture

Check out what’s on during the Huntsville Festival of Arts, one of the region’s top arts festivals. Events take place year-round, with the bulk of performances and public displays happening each summer.
