Where is Kenora?

Kenora is located approximately 200 kilometres east of Winnipeg and 500 kilometres northwest of Thunder Bay along the Trans-Canada Highway 1 corridor. The nearest U.S. border crossing is roughly three hours south at International Falls, Minnesota.

The city is serviced by Kenora Airport, Ontario Northland bus and by VIA Rail which provides train service to the nearby town of Redditt, 30 minutes from downtown Kenora.

Canoe Lake of the Woods

Rent a canoe and enjoy the majestic scenery of Lake of the Woods. Don’t forget to bring your fishing rod—this massive body of water is also known as the “Walleye capital of the world”.

Discover Kenora’s history

Conveniently located in downtown Kenora, the Lake of the Woods Museum houses over 25,000 artifacts and pieces of art and hosts various special exhibits throughout the year.

Enjoy a craft brew

Located inside a historic firehall, Lake of the Woods Brewery serves up locally crafted beers in their own taproom. The brewery also offers brewery tours that can be booked in advance.

Spend a day at the beach

Spend the day at Norman Beach, one of the best beaches in Kenora. In addition to swimming, find a gazebo and playground nearby.

Go for a hike

Lace up and set off for a hike along Tunnel Island Trail. The trail offers fantastic views of the Winnipeg River and Norman Dam. Free parking is available year-round.

Have fun at a waterpark

Splash it up at Hoopla Island, a floating waterpark and obstacle course located in Norman Park. The park is open seasonally from July 1 to August 30.
